Rule of Thumb: Don't Fall On Thumb!

THAT is MY thumb. No trick photography was used...
My thumb looks like crap! It also hurts too. *Mwah* Last night when I fell, I wanted to cry. But I didn't. I was tough. I'm totally badass like that!

I'm loving roller derby so much that I went ahead and created a new blog just for Marr Bulls.  That's my derby name by the way. Cool hunh? Yeah, I thought so. In case you're curious, I put a link in the sidebar for the derby blog. I'm doing a one-way thing though. I'm keeping my cyber house rules as a safe haven for me, my venting and basically saying the real shizz fo' shure. Ya hear me?

Whereas "be the doll" is shared among the derby world, and anybody who knows who Marr Bulls is will know who I am, get it? In other words, if you know Nikki Rules it's ok if you know Marr Bulls. But if all you know is Marr Bulls, then you don't really need to know Nikki.

I should probably go find some ice for my cocktail and I'll stick my thumb in it. That's practical thinking right there! Have a great weekend peeps... I'm going scuba diving!

  1. Holy... freakin'... crap! That looks painful. Kudos to you for not crying, you tough badass you.

P.S.: My word ver. is "oustspin". Did you thumb result from being thrown out while spinning, perhaps?

  2. @ Vinny: Actually... yes! I was doing a transition, spinning from going forwards to backwards on the banked track (and the bruise goes all the way around)
    @ Brandy: I concur.

  10. Yes, holding a series of icy drinks is the best remedy. (for most maladies as well.)

  11. The positive you can take from this unfortunate in jury is, you now can play Uma Thurman's role in Even Cowgirls Get The Blues. That movie is terrible but you could make it better in the remake. (her character has oversized thumbs)

    Hope you heal soon.

  13. I am looking forward to reading more posts on your roller derby site! I will refrain from commenting there if you want to keep these two separate. you never know: some very nosy people could track blog after blog and be led here maybe... OR I am just paranoid! because I have multiple worlds that I don't want to collide either!

  14. I imagine there will be more injuries to come, cuz roller derby is pretty serious.

I hope this finds you with your thumb recovering in a stiff drink.

  15. YOUCH! Like you said, cocktails are key. Just make two for every 1 that you drink - 1 for the thumb, 1 for the tummy. Repeat until thumb no longer hurts.
